Hi all i m going to put ceramic tiles down over a concrete floor which has previously had clear looking vinyl flooring glued down onto it as can be seen in the attachment. You can t tile over old carpet glue but it s not hard to remove carpet adhesive before tiling. No adhesive will stick to dirt and grease and even very small bits of dust or debris can cause a flaw in the way your vinyl tile adheres to the existing vinyl floor. The stuff has come up nicely but leaving a thin layer of soft and sticky glue that looks a lot like evostik on top of the concrete.
